What does the topology of the race look like?

  1. Let’s start with a simple race – like a run. The start and finish are in the same place. And only one lap is running.
    In this arrangement, you only need to define a race with one segment and set the segment to be interested in chip records from all four antennas. For a segment, it is also necessary to define the minimum time required to overcome the segment. Specifying a minimum time is important for the device to ignore all chip records during this time (in the results).
  2. If more rounds are running in the same topology, it is enough to add the corresponding number of segments in the definition of the race.
  3. And now we will try to imagine a more complex race – such as triathlon:

    1 It starts with a mass start into the water.
    2 Competitors return from swimming.
    3 They run out of the water and go through the gate (with antennas 2 and 3) to the depot and the first segment (swimming) is already measured.
    4 In the depot, they change into a bike and run with the bike through the upper gate.
    5 They get on the bike and go through the gate (with antennas 0 and 1). And is the measured time spent in the first depot.
    6 Competitors are on the bike path (segment).
    7 Competitors return from the completed bike track.
    8 They pass through the gate (with antennas 0 and 1). And is the measured time spent on the bike (cycling segment).
    9 They run with the bike into the depot gate (with antennas 2 and 3). However, this time is not interesting for measurement. In the depot, they change into the running part and run out the upper gate (without antennas) from the depot. They pass through the gate (with antennas 0 and 1) and the time of the second depot is measured.
    10 Competitors are on a running track (segment).
    11 Competitors return from the completed running track and run through the finish line (gate with antennas 0 and 1). And the last section and the whole race is measured.
  4. The defined race will then look something like this in the RaceMeter system:

    1st segment – swimming is 600m long and the minimum time is set to 300s – ie 5 minutes. From this segment, the duration will be displayed in the results.
    The 2nd segment is a depot – there the minimum time is set to 5s and in addition this segment is set to be interesting until the last pass through antennas 0 and 1.
    The 3rd segment is a bike – ie an MTB with a track length of 22 km and a minimum time of 1200 s (20 minutes) – there, in addition to the duration, we are also interested in the average speed.
    The 4th segment is again a depot – here is the minimum time set to 10s and again we are interested in the last pass.
    The last 5th segment is running on a 6km long section (with a minimum time of 900s = 15 minutes). In addition to the duration, the tempo (min/1km) will be displayed for this segment.
